ABOUT US
The Eastern Sierra Prescribed Burn Association (ESPBA) is a community-led organization dedicated to bringing beneficial fire back to the land. We empower landowners, ranchers, and local residents to safely use prescribed fire as a tool for forest health, wildfire risk reduction, and ecosystem restoration. By combining traditional knowledge, modern science, and hands-on training, ESPBA promotes collaboration between private landowners, agencies, and fire practitioners. Our mission is to make prescribed fire accessible, safe, and supported throughout the Eastern Sierra region—building resilient landscapes, stronger communities, and a culture of shared stewardship that embraces good fire as a natural and necessary process.
